Bits and Pieces
I saw this on the wall of the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis and had to have it here. This is the same idea as in the George Perec quote in my header and it summarizes the main idea of my blog. To give an image made up of shattered pieces, putting all the bits and pieces in one place and see who I am.
Unfortunately I could not get into the Walker because it was a Monday and it was CLOSED! That Monday was also my only day in the Cities, I was so disappointed. Got to check the Sculpture Garden once more, though. Some photos are in Flickr.
A bits and pieces Self-Portrait (1983) of Chuck Close below, that I had expected to see at the Walker.
Not my cup of tea but I like the fragments idea a lot. I would definitely prefer Huang yong Ping below, a contemporary Chinese artist living in Paris.
