Divine Choreography by Djihane Boughaba

posted Thursday, 28 April 2005

As the representative of Algeria in my project All 55 African countries, I absolutely had to pick Djihane Boughaba. Born in 1966, her life story is not an ordinary one. Djihane studied medicine and obtained her general practicioner diploma in Algeria, but the lure of art and of discovering other places was always strong: she has lived in Egypt, Paris, Tunisia and has now settled in Athens, Greece. She has worked on her art and on medicine up until 1995, when she finally opted for art. Her story here.

The painting above is called Extension and is part of the collection Divine Choreagraphy. A good gallery of works by Djihane can be seen here.

Unfortunately her works only show through the online shop Raken art. Hopefully she can work on her own website and give the public information of how to reach her and where to see her work!
