Make Poverty History (1st email)

Hello, and thank you for joining the Make Poverty History campaign.

You're now part of something very special and vitally important.

Every single day of every single week around 30,000 children are dying needlessly of extreme poverty. A great many die for want of medicines, which you and I can buy over the counter in a chemist.

This year brings the best opportunity there's ever been to actually end extreme poverty. In July the G8 summit of world leaders takes place in Scotland. There's never been a moment like this before - when we really can change the world.

You have taken the first step towards reminding the G8 leaders that they must act - that they cannot afford to miss this golden chance to make poverty history.

Over the next few months, we'll be asking you to do just a few key things that will make a huge difference.

We will be in touch very soon, but in the meantime here are three quick things that you can do right now.
