Free photos online

There are millions of free images on the web: photos, templates, backgrounds, fractals, art, family pictures, postcards, you name it.

I wanted to spice up my blog a little bit and include some pictures, but my own pictures are only so many and they could actually look better. So, I’ve decided to look for free pictures on the web that I could use.

Free pictures web pages are plentiful. The site webshots.com is a great resource, particularly the community folder, but the list goes on and on. A large number of people seem to have found their media online.

This wealth of online voices reminds me of a poem by Thomas Gray I read in college. I just do not know how this will relate to today’s cyber expression.

Full many a gem of purest ray serene,

The dark unfathom’d caves of ocean bear:

Full many a flower is born to blush unseen,

And waste its sweetness on the desert air.
