Disfamer was born Mike Meyer in 1884 to a family of farmers who moved to Arkansas in the 1880s. Because he didn't like his family or their occupation, he changed his name to Disfarmer and opened a small photostudio in Heber Springs. After his death in 1959, his photo collection was sold and would be published in the book 'Disfarmer: The Heber Springs Portraits, 1939-1946'.
Disfarmer's collection visited the Kunsthal Rotterdam Museum in January and Florence, Italy till June. For those who missed them, this is the online chance.
Above the photo "Young Family Seated" that can be acquired by $800 (!). May be Mike Meyer was a photographer just like any other rural photographer or not. But the faces of those he captured speak a million words.
And by the way, sorry for the verbose way of saying "Some cool pictures, dude!"
