The election of the new Pope has been turned into such a trendy show by all the media that I have decided to contribute to the general enthusiasm and choose a favorite cardinal. After checking on all the candidates, especially those that seems to be the favorite ones, I've decided to go for Oscar Andrés Rodrigués Maradiaga of Honduras (the link I provide is for a page backing his election!). My reasons are:
- Defends that rich countries drop the debt of poor countries
- "Ferocious on social justice issues"
- Multilingual
- Plays the piano
- Training as a psychologist
- Progressive candidate
- He looks good
My second is Godfried Danneels, the most liberal of all candidates. Other than that I don't really care, as long as men occupy all the cardinals chairs, why even bother.
A hilarious page here because it has links to all the betting sites that are now accepting your bet. This is not an invitation to gambling. I totally do not recommed internet gambling! On Paddy Power, Maradiaga is the 8th favorite, Daneels 23rd. Like horses. The first is Arinze, the African conservative candidate.
