Third Glance by Lola Kóvacs
Lola Kóvacs is an Hungarian artist born in 1970. This painting, Third Moment and similar ones that can be seen here, have earned the artist the first prize in the Strabag 2004, an eight year old painting competition that strives to reward "talented young representatives of painting in Hungary".
I loved the painting and the others in this series. The very original, rich and sensual colors caught my eye and I just had to have it here. Lola seems to be very well known in Hungary, not so well abroad, although she has exhibited her works in other countries, namely in London. I don't know what her contact his, but contacting the Hungarian Academy of Fine Arts will do the trick, as she will be the guest artist in the TIPP International Course in Contemporary Art next September.
