I am always surprised when people have one chance to travel and they choose strange destinations, places that don't have that much to offer, package easy deals (I will obviously not mention any), when there is Venice.
The food, the Bellinis bar, the Opera La Felice, canals, the Adriatic Sea, gondolas and gondoliers, the Peggy Guggenheim museum, St. Mark's Square, the bridges and the flowers on the balconies by the water, Death in Venice, the Lido, the Cathedral, Carnival, masks, le Pierrot, Hotel des Bains, Murano glass, the Palaces, La Biennale, Hotel Cipriani, Venice Film Festival, the bridge to kiss under and have eternal love, the most mythical, unreal city in our world, out of Calvino. There is Venice, how can we ever go anywhere else?
