When I was a kid, I didn't like classical music, may be because my mother liked it and I had to be different. Later on, chance had me working for the staff of an orchestra at a time when I already had acquired the habit of listening. Years later, I married a musician, thus sealing a long love affair with classical music.
But I can still remember the very first moment of complete awe. It was during a violin and piano recital that took place in a 18th century palace. The hall was dimly lit and could accomodate about 20 to 30 people, but there was only 5 of us. The violinist, now the concertmaster for the Granada Orchestra, played Schubert's Rondo. Till this date, this has been one of my most memorable moments.
